Skamania County is just East of the Portland/Vancouver area. From I-5 (or I-205) take Hwy 14, or I-84 East into the Columbia River Gorge.

From State Hwy 14, follow the Wind River Hwy (Hwy 30) North, through Carson (1.1 miles), to Stabler (8.9 miles), turn left on Helmlock Rd. Go past the Wind River Work Center & Visitor Info (1.4 miles), keep to the left and cross Trout Creek. Martha Field will be straight ahead on your left (.2 miles)
